Rydon Ward, Wellsprings, Taunton
Completed in March 2012, this £2.3m scheme for Somerset Partnership NHS Foundation Trust, involved the partial demolition of the existing ward followed by the conversion of the remaining structure and extension to form two independent 15 bed acute mental health wards, one on each floor. Staff and medical facilities were constructed on the first floor.
A range of further facilities were also provided including sitting and quiet room, dining room and an activity centre.
Cullompton Community Centre
This landmark contemporary building, built alongside the historic Grade 1 Listed St Andrews Church, features a 3 storey steel frame building with sweeping curved roof and glazed walls. Internally the centre comprises a main conference space where concerts and productions can be held with seating for up to 180 people, together with meeting rooms and offices.
The centre was officially opened by Iain Duncan-Smith MP in May 2012.
Riverpoint, Bath
An extremely complex and demanding project this development comprises a judo ‘dojo’, a clinic and two houses all shoehorned into a small site sat on the banks of the River Avon. Featuring heavily patterned cladding and slate plinths the buildings have an industrial feel that blends well with the neighbouring buildings, many converted from former work premises.
Victoria Ward RUH Bath
Completed in 11 weeks, this project comprised the reprovision of the first floor of the Victoria Ward to create an 18-bed ward including new bathrooms, a Central Nurses Station together with ward administration offices both cellular and open plan. Works involved the provision of new M&E services with medical gases, new floors and ceilings and partitions.
Careful planning and liaison was essential to minimise disruption as patient wards, both above and below remain operational throughout.
Music Block, Beechen Cliff School, Bath
Handed over on programme for the beginning of the 2011/12 academic year, this £1.1m project comprised the construction of a three-storey building to provide a specialist music block, built within the grounds of the operational school. The external design featured cedar clad elevations and curved profile roof.
